Join us for a 2D3N trip to Penang, Malaysia. Well known for its delicious foods and sceneries, Penang is a nice weekend getaway destination for everyone. Aside from its Char Kway Teow and Laksa, Penang has much more things for us to see, savour, and explore.

Day 1 (Fri night):
i) 8:45pm: meet at Newton MRT for taking of attendance and board the coach.
ii) At 9:15pm, our coach will reach Jurong East to pick up those who prefer to meet there. Then go Customs clearance via Tuas Second Link Checkpoint.
iii) Proceed with the trip. Rest and relax in the coach. There will be meal and washroom breaks along the way.
Day 2 (Sat):
i) Breakfast, own expense. Then proceed to picturesque Frog Hill (Guar Petai). Dubbed the “Jiuzhaigou of Malaysia (大马九寨沟)”, Frog Hill is an abandoned mining site with many turquoise quarry pools. Its dreamlike landscape are nice spots for photography and Instagram enthusiasts. The climb from foothill to hilltop is only 5-15minutes, but there is a 1.5km of earthy path to reach the foothill. If the path is too wet or muddy on that day, and our coach have difficulty moving to there, we may have to skip this site.
ii) Proceed to Butterworth Ferry Terminal. Enjoy the scenery as we take the ferry ride to Penang Island. If you prefer not to take ferry, you may remain in our coach which will bring you into Penang Island, via the Penang Bridge.
iii) For those who take ferry, our coach will pick you at the ferry terminal of Penang Island.
iv) City tour around Georgetown. We can go food hunt, view Penang street arts and wall murals. e.g. children on bicycle, boy on a chair, cat in window, etc.
v) If at least one-third of participants are keen, we will visit the ghost museum. This is not a haunted site or museum, but with life-size mannequins of ghost from different countries and cultures. Own expense of RM18 for M’sian, RM28 for non-M’sian.
vi) Check-in hotel. Rest.
vii) Proceed to Penang Hill. Take the Funicular Train ride to peak. With 2km in length, it is one of the longest funicular tracks in Asia. Return ticket at RM12 for M’sian, RM30 for non-M’sian.
vii) Enjoy the greenery, sunset and cool weather on Penang Hill. There are viewing decks, skywalk, nature trail, heritage trail, dusky leaf monkey, black giant squirrel, etc. As dusk sets in, enjoy panoramic views of Georgetown, Penang Bridge, and the mainland.
viii) Descend the hill by funicular train. Proceed for own dinner at popular food street. i.e. at Gurney Drive or New Lane food street, or both if we have the time.
ix) Own activities. e.g. food hunt, massage, shopping.
Day 3 (Sun):
i) Breakfast in hotel. Own leisure. Check out.
* If you like to take flight back to Singapore, you may do so by getting own tickets. Currently Scoot, PEN-SIN, 10:05am, is at $29 (will increase). Note that if you take flight, following itinerary will not be applicable to you.
ii) Quick visit to the Snake Temple. It's a Chinese Temple with few real snakes in it.

Day 2 (Sat):
i) Breakfast, own expense. Then proceed to picturesque Frog Hill (Guar Petai). Dubbed the “Jiuzhaigou of Malaysia (大马九寨沟)”, Frog Hill is an abandoned mining site with many turquoise quarry pools. Its dreamlike landscape are nice spots for photography and Instagram enthusiasts. The climb from foothill to hilltop is only 5-15minutes, but there is a 1.5km of earthy path to reach the foothill. If the path is too wet or muddy on that day, and our coach have difficulty moving to there, we may have to skip this site.
ii) Proceed to Butterworth Ferry Terminal. Enjoy the scenery as we take the ferry ride to Penang Island. If you prefer not to take ferry, you may remain in our coach which will bring you into Penang Island, via the Penang Bridge.
iii) For those who take ferry, our coach will pick you at the ferry terminal of Penang Island.
iv) City tour around Georgetown. We can go food hunt, view Penang street arts and wall murals. e.g. children on bicycle, boy on a chair, cat in window, etc.
v) If at least one-third of participants are keen, we will visit the ghost museum. This is not a haunted site or museum, but with life-size mannequins of ghost from different countries and cultures. Own expense of RM18 for M’sian, RM28 for non-M’sian.
vi) Check-in hotel. Rest.
vii) Proceed to Penang Hill. Take the Funicular Train ride to peak. With 2km in length, it is one of the longest funicular tracks in Asia. Return ticket at RM12 for M’sian, RM30 for non-M’sian.

Boat operators will provide props and they will also help you to take photos with nicer effects. A packet of simple lunch will be provided after we returned to jetty.
iv) Proceed to Bukit Melawati. You can either walk up the hill, or spend RM3 to take the tram with design of a cute choo-choo train. Attraction includes:
- a lighthouse, cannons, a structure for sighting of new moon.

- feeding the Silvered-leaf Monkeys. It's a rather gentle species. Adults are dark-grey in colour whereas the baby has golden fur.

Itinerary (subject to change)
Day 1 (Fri night):
i) 8:45pm-8:55pm: gather at Newton MRT for taking of attendance and board the coach.
ii) At 9:15pm, our coach will reach Jurong East to pick up those who prefer to meet there. Then go Customs clearance via Tuas Second Link Checkpoint.
iii) Proceed with the trip. Rest and relax in the coach. There will be meal and washroom breaks along the way.
Day 2 (Sat):
i) Reach Marang. From jetty, board the boat for 15mins fast ride towards Kapas Island.
ii) Snorkelling near Kapas Island. Snorkelling mask and life vest will be provided. Rich in marine life, you will see tons of corals and plenty of colourful fishes swimming around you. Other commonly seen creatures include cuttlefish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, giant clams, etc. For those not into snorkelling, you may rest on the boat.
iii) Proceed to Kapas Island. Packet lunch provided.
iv) Rest, relax, and appreciate this idyllic island. For those who are keen, you may go for these activities:
- explore more snorkelling sites. There are several sites with nice views of coral reef.
- rent kayak to paddle around, to view corals and island scenery.
- hike to Lion Hill which has panoramic view of the sea. It’s a short climb to hilltop but the slope is very steep.
v) Before evening, board the boat and return to mainland.
vi) Proceed to Kuantan and check in hotel.
vii) Rest. Own activities such as dinner, exploring Kuantan by night, etc.
Day 3 (Sun):
i) Breakfast in hotel. Relax and own leisure. Watch sunrise from Kuantan River if you are keen.
ii) Checkout hotel. Lunch at own expense.
iii) Proceed to Sungai Pandan Waterfalls. RM5 at own expense. Time to take a dip in its cool mountain water. Those not into water can enjoy scenery around the area.
iv) Stopover for dinner at Yong Peng, own expense.
v) Around 9:30pm: back in Singapore via Second Link. Coach will provide dropoff at Jurong East and Newton MRT.
